Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Paralegal with specialized experience in personal injury and litigation to support our legal team in a fast-paced law firm environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in case management, discovery, trial preparation, and client communication, with a focus on personal injury claims. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive under deadlines while assisting attorneys in delivering successful outcomes for clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in managing personal injury cases from intake through settlement or trial, including drafting demand letters, complaints, and settlement agreements
- Conduct legal research and gather evidence, such as medical records, accident reports, and witness statements, to support personal injury claims
- Prepare and organize discovery materials, including interrogatories, requests for production, and depositions; summarize findings for attorney review
- Coordinate trial preparation, including assembling exhibits, preparing witness lists, and drafting pre-trial motions and pleadings
- Communicate with clients to provide case updates, gather information, and assist with documentation, maintaining a compassionate and professional approach
- Manage case deadlines, track court filings, and ensure timely submission through e-filing systems and court calendars
- Support attorneys during hearings, mediations, and trials by organizing case files, taking notes, and liaising with court personnel
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3 years of paralegal experience, with specific expertise in personal injury law and litigation
- Strong understanding of personal injury case processes, including insurance negotiations, liability assessments, and damages calculations
- Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and case management software (e.g., Clio, MyCase)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a client-focused mindset
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a high-pressure litigation environment
- Paralegal certification preferred but not required
Salary : $85,000 - $100,000
