Position Overview:
We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Payroll Coordinator with expertise in Workday to manage and process payroll activities. The Payroll Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with company policies and government regulations. This role requires strong technical proficiency in Workday and payroll processes, as well as excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process payroll for all employees using Workday, ensuring accuracy in wages, deductions, benefits, and taxes.
- Review and validate payroll data, including employee hours, bonuses, commissions, and other payroll-related transactions.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including tax reporting and filings.
- Manage employee tax forms (W-2s, W-4s), garnishments, and deductions in accordance with legal requirements.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records in Workday, including new hires, terminations, and salary adjustments.
- Handle payroll inquiries and resolve any discrepancies related to pay, deductions, or benefits.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other departments to ensure accurate employee data and payroll processing.
- Assist with payroll audits, both internal and external, by preparing necessary reports and supporting documents.
- Generate payroll reports for management and assist in reconciling payroll accounts.
- Stay updated on payroll laws and Workday system updates to ensure compliance and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2-4 years of payroll experience, with at least 1-2 years of experience using Workday.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, federal and state regulations, and tax requirements.
- Proficiency in Workday Payroll and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve payroll discrepancies quickly and efficiently.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and provide payroll support to employees.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Familiarity with accounting principles and experience in payroll reconciliations is a plus.
