Title: Assistant Director of Admissions Department: Enrollment ManagementReports to: Director of Admissions Category: ExemptSummary/ObjectiveReporting to the Director of Admissions, the Assistant Director is a professional member of the enrollment team who manages a freshman recruitment territory, reviews and evaluates applications for admission, and represents Lees-McRae College to prospective students and families. The successful Assistant Director exhibits superior customer service skills and professionalism throughout daily interactions and communications with students including interviews, phone calls, emails, texts, and information sessions. The Assistant Director creates and implements recruitment strategies to reach prospective students through events, referrals, online and print communications, and manages recruitment activities in targeted initiatives. The successful candidate will also conduct information sessions for prospective students and families. The Assistant Director must demonstrate an ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with team members, faculty, students, alumni, administrators and staff.Essential FunctionsExtensive travel to visit high schools, cover college fairs, host regional programs, and conduct onsite application review days.Promptly respond to phone calls, email and inquiries.Manage outreach to all prospective students and those who have inquired.Manage all activities related to prospective students in a specific territory.Report on recruitment initiatives, including tracking of inquiries, applications, follow-up contacts, campus visits, etc. that allow for the analysis of strategies.Extensive follow-up by maintaining phone, email, written and personal contact with prospective students, families and school personnel.Conduct prospective student meetings and information sessions for families.Evaluate admission applications and make admission decisions or recommendations in a timely fashion, as needed to assist with recruitment efforts.Provide tours of campus if needed.Work closely with financial aid and other offices on campus to provide information students need for enrollment.Provide back-up counseling for financial aid as needed.Coordinate special projects as assigned.Travel to select events both in and out of state, focusing on building connections with incoming students and families.Attend on-campus Open Houses, Scholars Day, Academic Preview Days, Orientations, and Accepted Student events.Participate in Virtual Events, including Webinars and Information Sessions on subjects to include Residential Life, Financial Aid and Billing, Health Services, and other topics necessary for successful enrollment.CompetenciesAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work independentlyMust be able to work as a member of a teamDetailed-orientedGoal-orientedEthical conductInterpersonal skillsCreativity and visionSupervisory ResponsibilityThis position has no supervisory responsibility.Work EnvironmentNormal office environment where there is no physical discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise and the like.
