Position Purpose:
The manufacturing engineer determines the optimal manufacturing methods and processes for production parts. The engineer will oversee a product from the release stage through to satisfactory production, coordinating the manufacturing processes involved to meet customer requirements. The engineer will provide support for existing production of parts as necessary.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Be present in manufacturing environment in order to analyze manufacturing needs and provide support with any technical issues
- Collaborate with MRB team and investigate rejections to provide root cause and corrective actions
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods
- Create manufacturing planning and instructions sheets Review for accuracy bills of materials, including all specifications for use in MRP/ERP system and materiel department
- Design/improve support tooling and fixtures utilizing CAD (Inventor)
- Research and design manufacturing processes
- Estimate production times and analyze costs related to each job
- Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements
- Collaborate with program managers in addressing technical inquiries
- Aerospace , Mechanical Forging or metal manufacturing background
- Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement
- Trouble shooting die performance and introduce process improvements
· Knowledge of: tooling design, materials, and parts in the metal fabrication process, production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, GD&T
· Six sigma and/or lean manufacturing knowledge
· Strong project management and analytical skills
· Knowledge of aerospace and ISO specifications and regulations
· Working knowledge of aerospace specifications, quality codes and standards
· Basic knowledge with developing manufacturing processes with correct BOMS and instructions that are time efficient, cost effective and safe. Knowledge of full life cycle of raw materials to finished products.
· Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal abilities
· Able to work within specific time lines
· Must be accurate and detailed with minimum errors
· Work within a team environment
Experience, knowledge and skills:
A manufacturing engineering professional with 3 - 5 years' experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience and knowledge from a metal based manufacturing environment preferably metal forming (swaging, flow forming, forging), heat treat, NDT and CNC machining. Must be familiar with machining equipment (conventional and CNC Mills/Lathes). Familiarity with Inventor and Master CAM/Vericut software would be helpful. Candidate will have knowledge of lean manufacturing principles including 6S concepts, VSM, PFMEA, SPC, Standard Work etc.

Background and Experience:
· The ideal candidate will possess the following:
Education: BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science or related field
Salary Personnel work a 9-hour workday Monday through Friday (45 hour workweek)
Salary : $75,000 - $95,000
