LEGACY EARLY COLLEGE OVERVIEW
Legacy Early College is a K4-12 public charter school that originated through the vision of businessman William Brown in 2010 with an unwavering focus on “To and Through College” at every grade level. Legacy’s model combines academics, nutrition, physical fitness, and mental health. In addition to our college-driven academic standards, meals are made on site, scholars participate in PE every day, and Social-Emotional Literacy is integrated into the culture and curriculum. We currently occupy the site of the historic Parker High School and the former Greenville County Fine Arts Center.
Position Overview
The attendance and records coordinator is responsible for tasks related to scholar attendance and permanent records. This includes managing scholar attendance records in PowerSchool (documenting absences, excuses, early dismissals and late arrivals, running reports, assisting with truancy reporting), and maintaining scholar records (requesting, submitting, filing and maintaining the records room) and other duties as assigned by the PowerSchool Director, Principal and upper level administration.
Key responsibilities may include:
Scholar Attendance:
- Taking daily attendance, recording absences and tardiness.
- Following up with parents regarding student absences.
- Generating reports on attendance patterns.
- Communicating with parents, teachers, and staff.
- Tracking down the location of No-Shows.
Data Entry and Record Keeping:
- Maintaining student files, updating scholar demographic information in the PowerSchool database.
- Ensuring new scholar records are requested and received.
- Ensuring withdrawn scholar records are sent upon proper receipt of an official records request.
- Documenting where scholars’ records have been sent.
- Filing important documents and records accurately.
- Generating reports and forms as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required, some administrative or clerical experience preferred.
- Familiarity with school policies and procedures is beneficial.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse individuals
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Proficiency in computer software, including the PowerSchool scholar information system and Google Workspace.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of scholar and staff information
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
Work Schedule
This operates on the 240-day schedule based on the Legacy Early College centralized calendar.

- Position may require travel.
- Periodic participation in activities to support Legacy Early College is required.
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The position will have periods of extended work week hours, which is required to support both the ongoing development of the region and the delivery of high-quality education for all scholars.
