Legacy Emergency Vehicles is seeking a motivated and skilled **Mobile Service Technician** to join our dynamic team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for personal and professional growth within a fast-paced and organized dealership. This role will require travel 50% or more of the time within the state of Iowa, however overnights are rare.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Install, service, and repair emergency vehicle equipment, including ambulances and electrical systems on site at the customer’s location.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues using computer diagnostic tools when needed.
- Inspect, test, and perform routine preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and perform on-site repairs for customers.
- Collaborate with the Service Manager to address customer concerns and ensure quality service.
- Follow checklists and protocols for repairs, maximizing reliability and cost savings for customers.
- Maintain shop equipment, organize inventory, order parts from the manufacturer and ensure a clean and safe workspace.
- Create work estimates, document repairs, and verify results through test drives and system adjustments.
- Assist with customer warranty claims and manage company loaner vehicles.
- Occasional additional travel for deliveries and other business needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or GED required; basic math and language skills essential.
- Proven mechanical expertise with experience in service tools, diagnostic equipment, and 12-volt vehicle electrical systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Prior experience with pneumatic tool repairs, emergency lighting and EVT certification is preferred.
- Familiarity with low and high voltage electrical systems is a plus.
- Excellent communication, time management, and customer service skills.
- Ability to handle physical workloads and work independently or as part of a team.
