Legacy Engineering Group is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Engineer to join our Transportation Design team. This entry-level position is ideal for recent graduates who are eager to apply their academic knowledge to real-world transportation projects. As a Graduate Engineer, you will work under the guidance of experienced engineers, gaining hands-on experience and contributing to the design, analysis, and implementation of various transportation infrastructure projects.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the design and development of transportation PS&E projects for public and private clients which includes Roadway, Traffic Control Phasing, Retaining Walls, Drainage, Traffic Signals, Illumination, Signing & Pavement Markings, Traffic Management Systems, Storm Water Pollution Plan, Utilities, etc.
- Prepare and review engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates under the supervision of senior engineers.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil engineers, planners, and environmental specialists, to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Perform field inspections, data collection, and analysis to support project design and implementation.
- Utilize design software (e.g., MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer) to create and modify transportation design plans.
- Ensure that all designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations and standards.
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders to support project goals and timelines.
- Manage time effectively to balance multiple tasks and projects.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS / CAPABILITIES / CREDENTIALS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is required.
- Recent graduate or up to 2 years of experience in transportation engineering or a related area is required.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or eligibility to obtain it within six months of employment is preferred.
- Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer or similar tools.
- Basic understanding of transportation engineering principles, standards, and best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in the field of transportation engineering.
