Legacy Express Trucking, Inc., a leading semi-trucking company based in Joliet, IL, is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our growing team! If you have experience in accounting and a strong understanding of trucking industry finances, we want to hear from you.

Position: Accounting Specialist
Job Type: Full-Time
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Receivable & Payable: Manage financial transactions, including processing payments, invoicing, and handling outstanding balances.
- Yard Payments: Conduct yard checks and process related payments.
- EFS Codes Management: Issue and manage EFS codes as needed.
- Invoicing & Reporting: Run invoicing reports, ensure all invoices are processed, and manage batch creation with factoring provider.
- Inter-Domicile Communication: Collaborate with other company locations to ensure smooth invoicing processes.
- Fuel Card Management: Activate/deactivate fuel cards, issue new cards, and resolve driver fuel card issues.
- UIIA Compliance: Maintain and update driver records in the UIIA database.
- Customer Management: Act as the primary contact for setting up new customers, managing payments, and maintaining the customer database.
- Regulatory Support: Assist colleagues with MC# lookups and compliance-related inquiries.
- Escrow Reviews: Oversee and review escrow releases.
- Billing & Issue Resolution: Work directly with provider and factoring to resolve batch-related discrepancies.
- Fleet Owner Settlement Management: Process and distribute settlements for fleet owners.
- Driver Pay Issues: Assist in resolving payment concerns for drivers.
- Financial Audits: Conduct audits on invoices and payments to ensure accuracy.
- Out-of-Office Errands: Perform necessary office-related tasks, including document drop-offs and pick-ups.
- On-Call Support: Be available after hours to address urgent accounting-related issues as needed.
Qualifications:
- Experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance (trucking industry preferred)
- Proficiency in or similar accounting software
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations and trucking financial operations is a plus.
- Experience with TMSEZ, Toro, and McLeod o is a plus!
