The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring financial accuracy and efficiency while supporting daily accounting functions related to trucking operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and manage billing invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
- Handle billing settlements and reconciliation of accounts to ensure proper revenue tracking.
- Manage accounts receivable (AR) by tracking payments, following up on outstanding invoices, and resolving discrepancies.
- Oversee accounts payable (AP), including processing vendor invoices, verifying expenses, and ensuring timely payments.
- Reconcile financial transactions related to freight charges, fuel expenses, and carrier settlements.
- Assist with monthly financial reports, ensuring accuracy in revenue and expense tracking.
- Maintain organized financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Collaborate with dispatch and operations teams to verify load details for accurate invoicing.
- Support audits and provide necessary documentation for financial review.
Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 2 years of experience in accounting, in the transportation or logistics industry.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and accounting software.
- Strong understanding of AR/AP processes, billing, and settlements.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with vendors, clients, and internal teams.
