Job Title: General Education Teacher
Job Summary:
The General Education Teacher is responsible for providing an effective learning environment for students by delivering high-quality instruction in accordance with the curriculum standards and student IEPs. The successful candidate will foster student learning, development, and well-being by engaging students in the learning process, encouraging critical thinking, and promoting positive behavior.
Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Planning and Delivery:
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state and district curriculum standards and student IEPs.
- Use various instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of all students.
- Integrate technology and multimedia resources to enhance learning.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of subject matter and educational trends.
Classroom Management:
- Create and maintain a positive and safe learning environment.
- Establish and enforce classroom rules and expectations for behavior.
- Promote student engagement and motivation.
- Manage student behavior and address disruptions when necessary.
Assessment and Evaluation:
- Assess student progress through quizzes, tests, projects, and observations.
- Provide feedback on assignments and classwork in a timely and constructive manner.
- Analyze data from student assessments to inform instructional adjustments.
- Document and track student performance and growth.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with other teachers, support staff, and administration to ensure student success.
- Collaborate with special education staff .
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about student progress and any concerns.
- Participate in regular staff meetings, professional development, and school activities.
Student Support and Development:
- Recognize and address the academic and emotional needs of students.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the varied learning styles and abilities within the classroom.
- Encourage students’ social-emotional development and self-regulation.
- Foster a growth mindset and a love of learning in all students.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field (required). A teaching credential/license specific to the grade level and subject area, IVP finger print clearance and works visa as applicable.
Experience: Experience in teaching (student teaching or prior classroom experience may be preferred).
Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective classroom management and organization skills.
- Ability to assess and address diverse student needs.
- Proficiency with educational technology and tools.
- Knowledge of state standards, curriculum development, and best practices in education.
