POSITION SUMMARY:
The responsibilities of the R.P. are to care for the residents in such a manner as to help them maintain independence, self-esteem and dignity. It is Sophia Snow House's mission to provide a safe atmosphere in which each person may find respect, enjoyment and satisfaction in living.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Able to comprehend and follow assigned resident care plans when providing care
- Responsible for medication administration according to medication administration policy and process
- Able to recognize changes in resident's condition and communicate changes to appropriate person.
- Responsible for resident admissions and discharges, calling M.D. office for new or changes to medications, setting up appointments and transport for residents' medical needs, places weekly medication and supply orders to pharmacies.
- Responsible for collection and documentation of vital signs
- Conduct rounding and answer call lights
- Perform activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed
- Transport meals to residents' rooms as needed, provided dining room supervision at all meals and assist with meal service as needed
- Use electronic medical system to complete daily documentation of care provided
- Communicate professionally with residents, co-workers, families and visitors
- Assists C.N.A.s as needed.
- Accepts reassignment as needed to provide necessary care for all residents
- Perform other position-related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Able to pass the facility approved training program on the topic of medication administration
- Massachusetts C.N.A certification or other relevant state certification preferred
- Prior experience in a geriatric setting preferred.
- BLS C.P.R. certification preferred or able to take class upon hire.
- Must be 21 years of age or older
