POSITION SUMMARY:
The Freight Handler will be primarily responsible for loading materials for deliveries, ensuring that all orders are accurate, secure, and ready for transport. This position will include receiving in materials deliveries, like lumber, insulation, concrete, etc., as well as aiding in pulling of materials for delivery, as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Safely load building materials onto delivery trucks following company guidelines.
- Ensure that all loaded materials are packed securely to prevent damage during transport.
- Pull job packs with designated ticket, as needed.
- Organize and prepare materials for efficient delivery schedules.
- Verify product pulled is accurate.
- Accurately build loads and assist customers, as needed.
- Operate ground equipment safely and conduct daily inspections.
- Maintain the yard in a clean and orderly condition.
- Other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma
- One-year relevant experience required.
- Ability to read a tape measure.
- Ability to operate powered industrial vehicles (forklifts, moffits, etc).
- Valid driver's license preferred.
- Background and drug screen check required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs
- Ability to work in seasonal weather conditions.
Legacy Metals LLC offers competitive wages contingent upon experience, education, and skills. Starting rate for this role is $16.00/hr.
The schedule for this role is Monday - Friday from 7 am to 5 pm.
