Position Overview:
As a Maintenance Technician, you will work under the direction of the Executive Director and in collaboration with the Physical Plant Director to maintain the overall cleanliness, safety, and functionality of the facility. This role is essential in upholding our high standards of care and service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily walk-throughs to monitor facility conditions, including parking areas.
- Assist with fire safety, disaster preparedness, and evacuation procedures.
- Support staff training for fire drills per local regulations and company policy.
- Perform general maintenance tasks, including drywall repair and paint touch-ups.
- Ensure timely updates and completion of repair requests in the Maintenance Log.
- Follow a preventative maintenance schedule as directed by management.
- Repair plumbing fixtures and bathroom components as needed.
- Clean and maintain interior and exterior light fixtures; replace bulbs as necessary.
- Conduct scheduled deep cleaning of kitchen and bathroom floors.
- Maintain laundry room equipment, including dryer lint removal and cleaning behind dryers.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management to maintain facility safety and function.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with residents, staff, and management.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in general maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, and painting.
- Physical ability to lift/move 50 lbs. and perform tasks involving bending, standing, and walking.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Must demonstrate reliability, flexibility, and a commitment to quality work.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- TB clearance, First Aid & CPR certification (as required by the state).
- Criminal background check and fingerprint clearance per state regulations.
- Health screening clearance (LIC 503).
