Position Overview:
- This role will be a limited duration role - roughly spanning about 5 months.
The Compliance Specialist is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and monitoring of compliance programs across the organization. This includes ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards. The role involves conducting audits, assessments, and training to mitigate risks, safeguard the company’s reputation, and maintain a culture of integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Regulatory Compliance
Ensure the company adheres to relevant local, state, and federal regulations, as well as industry-specific requirements
- Policy Development and Review
Draft, update, and maintain compliance policies and procedures. Review and revise company practices to align with legal and ethical standards.
- Training & Education
Conduct training sessions for employees on compliance-related topics, including anti-bribery, data protection, and conflict of interest.
- Risk Management
Identify and assess compliance risks across various departments, reporting findings and suggesting mitigation strategies.
- Audit & Monitoring
Conduct regular audits to evaluate adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements. Create audit reports and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Internal Reporting
Prepare and present reports on compliance issues, trends, and risk mitigation activities.
- Investigations
Assist in investigating driver non-compliance issues or ethical violations, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
- Vendor Compliance
Monitor and evaluate vendor compliance with contractual terms, regulatory standards, and internal policies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, related field preferred or equivalent years of experience. High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate complex compliance matters to non-experts.
- Experience in risk management or auditing is a plus.
Preferred Experience
- 2-5 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or legal fields.
- Familiarity with compliance software tools and databases.
