Sign Fabricator

Position Description

The Sheet Metal Fabricator will be responsible for fabricating and assembling sheet metal components according to engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications. This role requires proficiency in metalworking techniques, knowledge of sheet metal materials and tools, and the ability to produce high-quality work with attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have experience in sheet metal fabrication, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Utilize and interpret blueprints to determine how and where to fabricate, assemble and install sheet metal products.

· Measure, mark dimensions, and lay out material to be installed using tools such as scribes, rulers, calculators, and squares.

· Operate metalworking equipment and machinery, including shears, brakes, saws and punches, to cut, bend, and shape sheet metal components.

· Use hand tools and power tools, such as grinders, drills, and riveters, to trim, deburr, and finish metal surfaces as needed.

· Fasten joints and seams in sheet metal with solder, welds, caulk, bolts, and metal driver clips, ensuring work is done carefully and bonds will last.

· Use hand and power tools to trim, buff, smooth, file and grind metal surfaces and joints of parts that have been assembled to ensure safety and a seamless appearance.

· Ensuring safety is a priority on the job during all activities, including using tools and installing and fabricating metal.

· Operate Forklifts and Overhead Cranes as needed.

• Must be able to read tape measurements.
• The ability to learn and operate manual and automated machinery.
• Help keep the shop/warehouse neat & clean.
• Must be reliable, hardworking & punctual.
• Ability to work within a team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week

Experience:

• Sheet metal: 5 years (Required)

Ability to Relocate:

• Westville, IN 46391: Relocate before starting work (Required)
