We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Technical Writer to join our client in Westlake. In this role, you will be responsible for writing, revising, and maintaining a variety of technical documents for our ICS products, including product manuals, installation instructions, parts posters, and quick reference guides. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with engineers and other cross-functional teams to translate complex technical information into clear, user-friendly content.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Write and revise technical documentation including product manuals, installation instructions, parts posters, and quick reference guides.
- Create technical diagrams and images illustrating product parts and bills of materials (spare parts).
- Develop multimedia content (e.g., training videos, operation guides) to support user training, operations, and repairs.
- Manage project timelines and maintain data files, tracking planned vs. actual project schedules.
- Assist with the ongoing maintenance and updates of technical documents on the Nordson website.
- Coordinate and request language translations for technical documents when necessary.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience:
- 1-3 years of technical writing experience preferred.
- Experience writing technical content for an industrial or manufacturing company is a plus.
- Proficiency with technical writing software, such as Adobe InDesign, is preferred.
- Familiarity with 3D modeling software, such as SolidWorks, is desirable.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong writing, editing, and reviewing skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with engineers to transform technical data into easy-to-understand content.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
- Basic knowledge of creating product illustrations or working with 3D models for exploded views and parts lists is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
