Position Summary
The Estimator develops cost estimates for projects based on work scope, specifications, and contract proposals using applicable estimating methodologies and tools.
Onsite in Buckner, KY. Relocation assistance is available if needed.
Salary: $115-130k depending on experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepares cost estimates at various stages of design from schematic and budget to detailed take-off and pricing.
- Communicates with architects, engineers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors efficiently; prepares economic feasibility studies on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
- Participates in project meetings, reviewing schedules, and preparing reports.
- Visits project sites, warehouses, and other facilities necessary to complete estimates.
- Solicits input from the Safety, Health, and Quality Department regarding anticipated safety requirements for the project.
- Estimates foreseeable safety requirements and costs and includes them with the estimate.
- Develops and maintains the Master Project Schedule, adjusting critical path and project milestones as required.
- Actively tracks each aspect of project performance against schedules and critical path.
- Prepares RFPs for vendor and contractor services for the project.
- Manages project financials and prepares reports on current budget/cost status and anticipated final cost.
Qualifications/Requirements
- A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 5 years of Project Management and 5 years of Estimating, Construction Management, or related experience.
- Proven experience as an estimator or in a similar position.
- Sound mathematical skills and computer literacy.
- High aptitude with computers, including Microsoft Office products.
- Excellent self-management and organizational skills.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of all facets of the construction process.
- Ability to plan and see the "big picture".
- Competent in conflict and crisis management.
- Leadership and human resources management skills.
- Ability to work as part of a goal-oriented team.
- Knowledgeable of the Company Safety, Health, and Quality Program and applicable federal/state regulations.
- Knowledgeable of proper safety practices for the work environment.
Salary : $115,000 - $130,000
