What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housing Support Specialist position at Legacy Treatment Services Group?
Provides housing placement services to consumers. Demonstrates the knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the consumer population served. Responsible for administration of various rental subsidy programs (DMHAS, HUD, DCA, Section 8) including, but not limited to, file maintenance, building landlord relationships, providing tenant orientations, maintaining data on housing stock, monthly housing inspections and acting as liaison with tenant/landlord and Supportive Housing Connections. Provides housing and rental education to staff and consumers. Will provide in-person support services as needed and indicated by program contract commitments and needs. Assists with program development, implementation and evaluation. Annual Performance reporting for HUD contracts as required. Attend Continuum of Care and State level housing meetings Carries a small caseload to assist the department.

Education/Experience:
Bachelors degree in human services field with 5 years of mental health experience required, or Masters degree in human services field with 1 year of mental health experience in the provision of case management and/or residential services. Licensed or Certification is preferred
