What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll and Account Reconciliations Specialist position at Legend Bank?
PRIMARY FUNCTION
Performs a variety of routine accounting duties in accordance with standard procedures in one or more of the following areas: payroll, general accounting, investment record keeping, and purchasing and/or related financial area.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
a. Processes payroll and maintain payroll/ time clock systems. Prepare payroll reports. Reconcile payroll discrepancies.
b. Reconciles bank accounts (e.g. internal DDA), posts general ledger entries and balances general ledgers to statements,
c. Resolves outstanding items, documents variances, and maintains account records to accurately prepare monthly balancing reports.
d. Assist in preparing financial statements and reports for internal and external users.
e. Maintain fixed asset schedules, depreciation entries, and related reports.
f. Assist in gathering department audit request information for quarterly internal audits and annual external audits.
g. Maintains all processes with respect to bank investments including proper approval for purchases and sales.
h. Maintains all Accounting files in an orderly manner.
i. Maintain and balance supplies inventory and maintain related reports.
j. Assist in payable data entry and cross train with other positions in the accounting department.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
EDUCATION:
Preferred BBA with a major in Accounting.
RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:
Three (3) years payroll or accounting experience required. Skills should include typing, 10-key, and computers. Good organizational, communication and customer skills are required. Attention to detail and mental concentration are necessary to accurately perform required tasks.
