Job Description
Legend Smelting & Recycling LLC. was founded in 1982 based out of Newark, Ohio. For nearly 40 years, we have been a preferred buyer and processor of Platinum Group Metals from spent Catalytic converters and Dealers/Brokers of Non-ferrous Metals. Our business is built on a history of dedication, integrity, loyalty and long standing customer relationships. LSR has locations across North America including Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, North Carolina, Iowa, Oregon, and California . The Associate Buyer is responsible for securing new business prospects through sourcing and travelling to salvage & recycling yards, to purchase catalytic converters and non-ferrous metals. Upon purchases the Associate Buyer is responsible for loading all purchased units and transporting these units back to the assigned collection hub, where units will be unloaded, sorted and prepared for shipment to the corporate office.

All candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment drug test and meet required background check criteria, which includes a MVR report as this individual will be operating a company vehicle.
Duties:
Internal and external customer service relating to your purchases and customer-base.
Communicate and coordinate your catalytic converter buys with salvage yard Managers, Owners, Core Buyers and Brokers.
Manage and secure the daily inventory purchased. Perform onsite audits and adhere to control processes for inventory accuracy.
Maintain knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations in order to purchase materials in compliance.
Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned by Supervisor, could include: coordinating shipping arrangements; inventory weigh-in reports/logs; train new buyers; fork lift operation.
Education/Qualifications: Minimum High School Diploma or GED is required
Minimum Age 21 years
Vocational/Technical Training a plus
Clean Driving Record with Valid Driver's License
Must be able to pass a successful pre-employment screenings: background check, drug screen, MVR
Solid Communication and Customer Service Skills, Outside Sales
Prior Metals experience not required, previous experience is a plus
Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
Must be proficient in MS Office
Possible overnight Stays
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs., moderate to intense physical activity
Repetitive movements-Bending, stretching, stooping, twisting, crouching, tossing/throwing, lifting
Must be able to sit for long periods of time while driving
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
