SUMMARY
The Material Handler is responsible for preparing goods for final put away including labeling, wrapping, or bagging and stacking on pallets or in carts. Minor duties include scrap regrind, housekeeping and minor machine operations.
Shifts available include 1st shift (5 : 30a-2 : 30p) and 3rd shift (8p-4 : 30a - includes shift premium of $1 per hour)
IN THIS ROLE, THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL
- Receive product from production line to packing table
- Label material and pack into bags or use plastic wrapping for protection
- Package final items : coils onto pallet or sticks into delivery area
- Ensure product is the correct type and labelled correctly
- Count and wrap final pallets for inventory put away
- Assists Quality Control to identify issues (color, finish, print, etc.)
- Understands basic operation of cutting / packaging equipment
- Be able to operate saw, coiler, and switch between the two
- Be able to load pre-defined coiler programs
- Any additional duties assigned by management

Manual labor positions include maintenance, warehouse, transportation, and other positions whose primary duties involve physical labor and exertion. Maintenance positions frequently operate machinery and other equipment, and clean and maintain various grounds, equipment, lighting, and other facility items. The type of work performed by persons in these positions include shipping, electrical, and picking / packing work. Persons holding transportation positions regularly operate vehicles and transport mail, packages, and other goods. Warehouse positions constantly handle equipment, packages, and other goods. Employees in manual labor positions are often required to operate a computer, read, and write. They are frequently required to communicate and interact with others, in person and over computers, phones and other devices. In addition, they are frequently required to reach, twist, lift, carry, push, and / or pull objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Persons holding manual labor positions work at specific Legend locations, but may occasionally be required to travel to other locations, as needed. Employees in these positions are frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to hot or cold weather, and wet and / or humid conditions. Positions may also be exposed to high, precarious places requiring PPE. The noise level in the work environment ranges from moderate to occasionally loud.
