Legend Biotech is seeking a (Senior) Principal Scientist, Immuno-oncology as part of the Research & Early Development team based in Philadelphia, PA.
Role Overview
This position will the play an important role for a new interdisciplinary team developing company’s cell therapy platform for solid tumor applications.
Qualified candidates should have extensive experience in innovative CAR-T research for oncology applications, and possess proficiency in CAR-T design, target selection and in vivo model development. Broad proficiency in Immuno-Oncology, such as T cell signaling, trafficking and differentiation, various suppressive mechanisms in tumor microenvironment, immune editing and antigen spreading. Candidates with experience in participation of IND-enabling studies, biomarker discovery and cell therapy process and or analytical development are preferred.
The candidate is expected to be driven, analytical, thoughtful, and creative, who can provide important strategic input for future directions for Solid tumor CAR-T development.
This position will report to the Senior Director of Research. Location: Philadelphia.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the target and indication evaluation effort for internal next-gen CAR-T discovery.
- Design novel CAR signaling and armoring strategy to overcome on-target-off-tumor toxicity.
- Design and execute in vitro and in vivo functional assays.
- Analyze and interpret data, troubleshooting, engage internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancement of cell therapy in solid tumor. Demonstrate deep insight in selected disease area.
Requirements
- Demonstrate a good understanding of the competitive landscape of CAR-T applications in solid tumor.
- Previous work experience in target selection, validation and IND filing in CAR-T space is required.
- Experience with designing logic-gated circuits, or other types of conditionally- activated Chimeric receptor systems is strongly preferred.
- Experience in CAR-T animal models, in vivo study design and execution is required. Experience with humanized mouse models and Non-Human Primates is preferred.
- Additional experience in CAR-T cell PD and CMC is a plus.
