Responsibilities
The TPM Coordinator is responsible for the administration and coordination of the branch. This role will work closely with Manufacturing Maintenance. This role also ensures the Branch is focused on improving Safety, Quality and Reliability. It is the responsibility of the Total Productive Manufacturing Coordinator to:
- Identify processes to prevent non-conformances related to products, processes or the quality systems.
- Provide insight to prevent non-conformities related to the product produced, services provided or the ISO 9001:2015 management system.
- Make suggestions for improvement and verify the implementation of solutions.
- Know the location of and understand their control plans, work instructions and specifications.
- Develop standards for Implementation Teams and Equipment Improvement Teams.
- Support the work order management process and CMMS system.
- Ensure the work order process is followed, including PMs, changeovers and other planned maintenance. Conduct audits as needed.
- Strive for continuous cost reductions in all areas of responsibility.
- Serve as a liaison between TPM Steering Committee and all TPM related teams.
- Generate support for TPM process by:
- Actively pursuing new team members and Area Coordinators.
- Periodically presenting TPM progress to others.
- Coordinate and provide training and education in TPM and Continuous Improvement concepts.
- Participate in auditing for safety, 6S, equipment care, maintenance, and TPM processes.
- Ensure rewards and recognition are provided appropriately.
- Provide articles for plant/company newsletters.
- Lead the TPM Steering Committee. Assist both the Implementation Teams and the Equipment Improvement Teams in;
- Scheduling and conducting effective meetings that encourage individual participation while avoiding conflict and disruptive influences.
- The successful use of problem-solving tools.
- The effective presentation of material.
- Collecting data and information for effective decision-making.
- Publishing/distributing information generated in meetings and TPM metrics.
- Assist teams in quantifying cost savings of improvement efforts.
- Removing obstacles to the TPM Process.
- Coordinate activities between Project Teams and other L&P branches as needed.
- Assessing their performance.
- Support the EOJT process and the development of maintenance training plans within the maintenance department.
- Provide public relations for the TPM across the organization.
- Strive to accomplish branch mission and goal statements.
- Utilize continuous improvement tools to improve function of branch.
To Be Successful In This Role, You’ll Need
- Understand and practice TPM principles.
- Good communication and facilitation skills.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment.
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office and EAM (CMMS-training provided).
- Understanding of Continuous Improvement and its relationship to TPM.
- Ability to analyze processes or problems and develop solutions using problem-solving techniques.
- Bachelor’s degree
- Lean Six Sigma Certification
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 3-5 years of manufacturing or industry related experience and/ or training.
- Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time.
- Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; maintains a clean and organized work environment.
- Quantity - Meets productivity standards; Completes work in timely manner; Strives to increase productivity.
- Safety - Observes all safety procedures and policies; Reports potentially unsafe conditions to supervisor; Uses equipment and materials properly.
- Good attention to detail.
