US Market Operations is responsible for short-term forecasting and operational execution of The LEGO Group’s US business. We are a customer-focused organization – the team that collaborates with internal functions and external customers to deliver BU priorities and customer goals.
The Director Inventory Management ensures holistic inventory management of the US business. The person in this role is responsible for surfacing operational issues that may prevent successful delivery of US KPIs, and lead the business to resolution.
Core Responsibilities :
- Direct people leadership of Inventory Management team, inclusive of 6 team members – 3 Inventory Managers and 3 Associate Inventory Managers.
- Develops and sets department and team strategy based on customer, market, and internal factors / trajectories.
- Drives action to optimize retail inventory health, and surfaces implications for inventory health of BU decisions, driving Consumer Sales and EBIT.
- Brings BU visibility to Retail Instock and Inventory Turns KPIs.
- Owns Ship Call for the market, projecting and communicating attainment of the monthly Turnover plan on a weekly basis. Works across functions to identify opportunities to close any gap to plan.
- Approver for all US quote exceptions (unplanned inventory commitments inside of lead time) to drive revenue and consumer sales while maintaining inventory equity.
- Reviews and approves retailer specific replenishment programs.
- Dialogues with external retailer contacts as needed to address customer concerns and opportunities.
- Through leadership of the Inventory Management team :
- Facilitates business to business alignment on weekly, by-item, consumer sales expectations and replenishment needs for US Market.
- Influences retailers’ replenishment strategy to drive sales and improve scorecard results.
- Provides order quality feedback to retailers and works with retailers to root cause and correct ordering issues.
- Identifies issues with DC or store-level inventory flow; partners with retailers to root cause and corrective action.
- Recommends actions to maximize consumer sales and minimize markdowns for out-going items.
- Secures orders for new product launches and trade promotions, collaborates with Order Management and Distribution to ensure orders ship as planned.
- Decision maker for US retail allocation of hard allocated items; influences AMS Allocation to deploy constrained product where most needed.
- Recommends, designs, and drives development of tools to standardize and improve Inventory Management processes.

The salary for this position has a range of min 156,432 to max 234,648 annual based on anticipated responsibilities, market benchmarks, and organizational constraints. The definitive compensation may vary in alignment with the selected candidate’s professional background, experience, operational needs and other considerations permitted by law.
