Gymnastics Assistant Program Manager

COMPENSATION: $14.77/hour
STATUS: Part-time without benefits
DEPARTMENT: Recreation Division, Leisure Services
WORK SCHEDULE: Flexible, up to an average of 25 hours/week.
JOB SUMMARY: Performs a variety of general administrative and first-line supervisory duties as needed to assist in coordinating the organization and operation of the gymnastics program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: As an Assistant Program Manager, the expectations for this position are:
- Assist the Program Coordinator in all activities related to the Gymnastics Program, including but not limited to: training, evaluations, timekeeping, class schedules, gymnastics equipment, participant enrollment, and gymnastics meets.
- Some coaching may be necessary; only in emergencies.
- Monitors program activities to assure quality and serves as trouble shooter. This is intended to be a supervisory position although circumstances may at times require those with primarily organizational assignments to perform in additional capacities on an as-needed basis.
- Trains part-time and seasonal personnel needed in conjunction with Gymnastics program; monitors performance and makes recommendations affecting personnel statuses such as retention, advancement, and discipline.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS, and ABILITIES: A successful candidate will meet these minimum requirements:
A. Graduation from high school
AND
B. One year experience performing above or related duties
OR
C. An equivalent combination of education and experience
A successful candidate will also have the following skills and abilities:
- Working knowledge of methods, techniques, and philosophies of developing and operating a recreation program.
- Knowledge of liability issues and injury prevention.
- Organizational skills, personal computers and various software applications including spreadsheets, word processing, etc.
- Working knowledge of recreation programs, establishment of team rosters, and schedule classes, meets and other play activities.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, volunteers, and the public.
- Ability to direct, motivate, develop and evaluate subordinates; communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Preferred to have USA Gymnastics certifications.
- Preference may be given to current Lehi City employees.
