Summary
Provides direct fundraising to the Lehigh Valley Humane Society. This position will help develop and oversee donation data entry, stewardship and acknowledgment, and grant writing.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Under the supervision of the Chief Development Officer, responsible for correct data entry of all donor and donation data as it relates to direct mail, corporate giving, legacy giving and all other forms of contributions.
2. Makes effective use of the donor management database and other institutional resources in coordination with mission objectives.
3. Researches, writes, edits, or oversees the preparation of persuasive, accurate, and grammatically and syntactically correct grant proposals and reports in partnership with the Chief Development Officer.
4. Works closely with Chief Development Officer to implement a comprehensive stewardship plan that enhances the giving process for donors.
5. Assists the Chief Development Officer with preparation and completion of all direct mail solicitations.
6. Manages the production of relevant reports as they relate to donor and donation data.
7. Interacts with donors, staff, development colleagues, volunteers, and external constituents to ensure effective coordination of programs, projects, and activities.
8. Assists in short- and long-range strategic planning activities to create and implement fund-raising goals and objectives.
9. Manages submitting invoices to Accounts Payable as it relates to the Development department.
10. Assists the Development team with special events as needed.
11. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements
· Bachelor's degree or at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

· Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
· Demonstrated ability in planning and implementing long- and short-range development initiatives to meet established priorities.
· Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
· Database and records management skills.
· Working knowledge of a variety of fundraising strategies and methods.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present effectively to small and large groups.
· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.
· Ability to conduct research, gather data, analyze information, and prepare reports and other materials.
· Ability to exercise good judgment, to demonstrate an understanding of ethics related to development activities, and to use discretion in interactions with donors, prospects, volunteers, and others.
· Ability to foster effective working relationships within a team environment.
· Ability to plan, organize and coordinate activities and special events.
· Ability to provide technical coordination and management of development and/or implementation projects in area of expertise.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
