What are the responsibilities and job description for the Residential Millwork/Interior Architectural Detailing Drafter position at Leighton Design Group?
Leighton Design Group is looking for a creative Freelance Millwork and Interior Architectural Detailing Drafter in the Atlanta, Canton or Chattanooga area for a remote position that will require a weekly in person meeting in the Atlanta, Canton or Chattanooga area. This position requires exceptional attention to details. Please do not apply if you do not meet the following requirements.
- Must have proficient computer skills in AutoCAD drafting and creating millwork designs.
- Create detailed millwork designs using drafting tools and software.
- Be able to read, interpret and work from architectural drawings and specifications to determine the layout
- Be able to work with X-Refs, specific layers, understand polylines, dimensional plans, manage and understand viewports.
- Be able to create, modify architectural drawings from design sketches and markups (redlines).
- Must be able to adapt and follow our file and drawing set-ups.
- Assist in preparation of detailed interior construction sets.
- Fully comprehend building design, kitchen and bathroom design.
- Be able to block out elevations, tagging and filling out schedules.
- Knowledge of furniture space planning and scale.
- Dimension plans and elevations in a clear and efficient manner.
- Tag and fill out schedules.
- Understand and comprehend product specification sheets.
- Create floor plans from field measurements per existing conditions, including locating basic plumbing, mechanical and electrical.
- Minimum of 5 years of creating residential architectural interior construction drawings
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Be self-motivated
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines without compromising quality
- Sketchup a plus
