What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd Shift Utility Operator position at Lem Products Inc?
Position Description: Perform independently within a highly functional team environment while demonstrating high standards in quality, efficiency, and execution of work as it pertains to daily activities.
Utility Operator Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions:
- Set up and run machine finishing equipment on which competency has been documented by the Production Manager, including chop cutter, die cutters, laminators, back slitter and similar equipment listed on the Skills Matrix.
- Willingness to fill in where needed based on training and skill set within the production facility.
- Produce Quality product in accordance with AQL standards and quality escalation procedures.
- Delivery of product to next operation after job step is completed.
- Performance of all scheduled maintenance operations in coordination with maintenance mechanic as directed by the Production Manager.
- Diligent adherence to the First Article Sign Off (FASO) and related QMS procedure.
- Cooperation with all team members in the efficient execution of manufacturing processes
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace in accordance with 5S principles
- Maintain a safe and injury free work environment
- Perform related duties as assigned by the Production Manager
- Ability to cross train is a must with this position
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
- Duties will vary depending on demand, ranging from machine operation to inspection/packaging.
Key Competencies:
- Hands on machine operator experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment or demonstrated aptitude for machine operation and maintenance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
- Computer proficiency (MS Office Word, Excel and Outlook) and experience with an ERP system is preferred.
