What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utility Construction Operator position at Shainline Excavating, Inc.?
Day shift 6:00 am – 3:00 pm
Starting at $25-$30 Dependent on Experience and Skills
Requirements
· Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel to/from jobsites
· Physical and drug test required pre-employment
· Able and willingness to work outside in various elements
· Must possess good communication skills and be willing to work in a team
· Experience with operating heavy equipment (trackhoe/excavator, backhoe, and/or loader)
Responsibilities
· Safety is a top priority to your company, the community, your team, and yourself
· Be able to listen to and take directions from your foreman and other company supervisors
· Pre/Post check all vehicles and equipment intended for use prior to use to ensure it is safe to operate and report any noted defects to the shop
· Daily greasing of fittings on equipment and fueling of tanks
· Maintain and store equipment properly and ensure proper clean out daily of equipment used
· Set up and clean-up site as instructed
Job Description
A heavy equipment operator is versed in using large scale machinery including but not limited to backhoes, trackhoes, loaders, brooms and pavement zippers. The operator would be responsible for loading/unloading trucks of materials, backfilling & compacting trenches and assisting with both temporary and permanent trench restoration.
When operating the large equipment, the equipment operator must be highly aware of their surroundings at all times and able to stop work immediately if directed or if they see something they feel is unsafe. They should take pride in the work that they do and are receptive to feedback given to improve their skills.
