Overview
Work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team to develop and improve medical devices including new and next generation products, line extensions, general product improvements, and technology location transfers. Seeking an individual who can work independently on complex tasks including product prototyping, testing, data analysis, report writing, and project management.
Responsibilities
- Develop creative solutions with the goal of developing new, innovative medical devices
- Successfully execute complex engineering tasks related to product design and specification development
- Manage technology transfer projects including project timelines, project budget, and design history file
- Attend surgical cases, interact with surgeons, and review clinical journals to reinforce medical knowledge, support LeMaitre sales staff, and obtain feedback on concepts or new devices
- Use computer-assisted engineering software to perform engineering tasks related to prototype design, test method development, and production aids
- Source, evaluate, and coordinate the procurement of new materials and parts from suppliers
- Develop and execute validation protocols/reports and test methods and for prototype evaluation
- Review test data utilizing statistical analysis and generate reports determining if designs meet functional and performance specification
- Lead a complex project, which entails developing timelines, managing resources, and verifying task execution
- Analyze, evaluate, and recommend cost improvement ideas through product, vendor, and design changes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related Engineering degree from an accredited four-year college or university
- 6-10 years of related work experience
- Strong knowledge of SolidWorks, Project Management Software, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Understanding of statistical analysis and statistical software
- Good interpersonal skills
- Strong communication and time management abilities
- Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills
- Comfort working independently
- Travel up to 15% may be required
