Overview
The Receiving Clerk is responsible for accurately and efficiently checking-in, counting, and verifying inbound shipments of products. They process documentation for all in-bound products accurately and timely for purchase orders originating from the Purchasing department.
Essential Functions
- Unload freight, UPS, and/or FedEx trucks
- Separate out returns from incoming packages
- Adhere to strict standards to inspect and ensure accuracy of all inbound shipments by unpacking, sorting, and counting all incoming products
- Operate a handheld electronic device and/or computer to record activity
- Log and communicate to supervisors any discrepancies or damaged merchandise
- Maintains database or all incoming envelopes, samples, and packages amongst others
- Works closely with the Purchasing department to obtain proper documentation
- Generates complete and accurate memo for product being forwarded to another warehouse
- Comply with all company safety rules and regulations
- Maintain orderly housekeeping of assigned area
- Other tasks as assigned and/or needed
Non-essential Functions
- Cover for other positions as needed
Required Qualifications and Education
- 1 year experience Receiving, Warehouse/Manufacturing environment preferred
- Above average mathematic, organizational, and time management skills
Physical Demands

- Must be able to move up to 80 pounds, employees are encouraged to use good judgment with heavy or bulky packages, seek help when lifting objects exceeding 35 pounds
- Must be able to reach a maximum height of 5 feet

- Must be able to move about inside the warehouse
- Must be able to communicate verbally and written
- Must be able to read from a screen
- Must be able to ascend/descend ladders and stairs
