Overview
The Warehouse Manager is accountable for leading the daily operations of the warehouse with emphasis on meeting the company standards of same day shipping, customer satisfaction, and developing a responsive workforce. This position is responsible for planningstaffing levels, recruitment, training, evaluation, and promotion of warehouse employees, leads, and Assistant Manager. The Warehouse Manager is accountable for upholding employees responsible to follow safety rules and procedures. This position is responsible for building, products, and equipment safety and security.
- Leads all the warehouse operations according to company standards of customer service, cost, safety, and security
- Develops, monitors, and maintains a space utilization plan to meet all service requirements.
- Follows building, product, and equipment security protocols according to company procedures
- Coordinates and promotes superior customer service, maintaining established timeframes of same day order intake and shipment
- Maintains a professional and courteous relationship with all vendors, suppliers, and dealers.
- Develops, implements, and oversees safety programs to ensure the safety of all personnel, equipment, and property providing safety instruction to personnel as needed, reporting all work-related injuries immediately and arranging to receive immediate medical attention as needed
- Ensures compliance with OSHA and SDS
- Becomes familiar with warehouse / distribution technology and makes recommendations to senior management on programs to improve operations
- Ensures current and accurate inventory control procedures are maintained
- Develops a stable, dependable, and responsive workforce including but not limited to recruitment, training, evaluation, and promotion of warehouse employees promoting a healthy and motivated environment for employees to thrive at their work
- Recommends staffing levels for all warehouse departments according to business needs
- Schedules warehouse workers’ shifts according to business needs including receiving, storing, shipping, returns, maintenance, and administrative activities
- Forecasts one year labor needs
- Understands the technology, processes, and flows of a fast paced, high-volume distribution center
- Creates, and manages programs to maintain orderly housekeeping of building and grounds.
- Adheres to all company safety rules and regulations
- Maintains strict confidentiality
- Performs other duties and / or tasks as assigned
