Leasing Coordinator for Affordable Housing - Bilingual Spanish
Description:
The Leasing Coordinator reports to the Supervisor of the Leasing Dept within Lemle & Wolff, INC Property Management. This position is primarily responsible for communicating and collecting all documents required from the applicant pertaining to the unit that an applicant may qualify for. The Leasing Coordinator will work closely with the Supervisor of Leasing and other staff assigned to lease-ups, where applicable.
Responsibilities:
- Act as first point of contact will all housing applicants
- Initiates calls in a courteous and pleasant manner to applicants on waitlist
- Must have experience with LIHTC/HOME, Market/ Rent Stabilized, NYCHA, HPD,
- CityFheps, Project-Based Vouchers and HPS Homeless set-aside.
- Tracks and documents all responses on waitlist tracker.
- Generates and/or track denials and outcome letters.
- Demonstrates professionalism through a positive and cooperative attitude and by
- maintaining the confidentiality of applicant’s relationship and related work product.
- Proactively works towards finding new approaches to improve and streamline the
- waitlist process.
- Perform other assignments as requested.
Required Qualifications:
- Must speak English and Spanish at a conversational level.
- High School diploma and minimum 3 years related work experience in leasing
- Affordable housing units or similar positions, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written
- Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Strong people skills
- Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds
- Able to multi-task in high energy environments.
- Proficient at Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook)
- Strong analytical and time management skills, as well as ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Listening and understanding the needs of applicants.
