Patient Service Manager
The Patient Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the food service operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, nutritious meals to patients in a healthcare setting. This role involves managing patient meal orders, coordinating meal delivery, maintaining patient satisfaction, and ensuring that all food service operations comply with health and safety regulations. The Patient Service Manager will collaborate closely with the kitchen team, nursing staff, and other departments to meet the dietary needs and preferences of patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Meal Management: Oversee the meal ordering and delivery process for patients, ensuring that all meals meet dietary requirements and patient preferences. Ensure timely, accurate delivery of meals to patient rooms in accordance with hospital policies.
- Staff Supervision: Lead and supervise the patient services staff, including dietitians, food service workers, and tray delivery personnel. Provide training, performance evaluations, and guidance to ensure the team provides exceptional service to patients.
- Patient Satisfaction: Ensure that all aspects of the food service operation contribute to patient satisfaction. Address patient concerns or complaints regarding meals promptly and professionally.
- Dietary Compliance: Work with the nutrition and dietary teams to ensure that all patient meals adhere to prescribed dietary guidelines, medical restrictions, and food allergies. Collaborate with healthcare providers to adjust menus as necessary based on patient needs.
- Collaboration with Other Departments: Work closely with nursing and clinical staff to ensure proper communication regarding patient dietary needs, food allergies, and meal preferences. Serve as a liaison between the food service department and clinical staff.
- Inventory and Ordering: Manage the ordering and stocking of food and supplies necessary for patient meal service. Ensure adequate inventory levels and proper rotation of stock. Maintain records for food purchases and track costs associated with patient services.
- Quality Control: Monitor the quality, presentation, and temperature of meals served to patients. Ensure adherence to safety and sanitation standards to meet health code requirements.
- Training and Development: Conduct ongoing training for staff regarding food safety, customer service, and patient care. Promote a positive and efficient work environment that emphasizes teamwork and professional growth.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records related to patient meal orders, service times, inventory, and patient feedback. Prepare reports as required by the Director of Food and Nutrition.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Food Service Management, Hospitality, or related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in food service management or healthcare food services, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and move throughout the healthcare facility.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds as required for food service operations.
