SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Individuals in this position report directly to the President or designee with primary focus on overall project management. Focus in this position is on quality assurance, adhering to production schedules, management of subordinate personnel and contract staff ensuring the successful completion of those goals. Incumbents will be not only responsible for supervision but also the training and development of personnel as needed. Position serves as the overall point of line oversight for projects with an emphasis on scheduling, quality, problem solving, and establishing and maintaining positive personnel attitudes and motivation.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reports to President or designee on project activities, status, and issues
- Works closely with in-house and contract labor staff, suppliers, and government inspectors to aid in completion of project goals
- Identifies, reports on, responds to and mitigates project conflicts and issues
- Creates and maintains accurate and concise documentation of activities and events
- Performs on site routine quality assurance / status inspections creating reports outlining findings and resolution measures as needed
- Maintains, modifies, updates, and adheres to project schedules through use of online project management system
- Monitors work flow and performance through constant communication with project personnel and management
- Coaches, mentors and develops company personnel to meet the standards of quality and excellence in service
- Monitors and reports on trade activities and quality control issues
- Conducts on site inspections with government inspectors and customers as required
- Maintains positive and professional relationships with company personnel and various outside entities
- Performs related work as required
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of residential and commercial building construction, phases, materials and methods
- Knowledge of fundamentals of project management
- Knowledge of building & safety codes, requirements and inspection procedures
- Knowledge in the principles and practices of supervision
- Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
- Knowledge of PC functions and ability to efficiently operate a computer based scheduling and project management software system
- Skill in typing/keyboarding
- Skill in report writing and record keeping
- Skill in scheduling and project management
- Skill to handle multiple tasks concurrently
- Skill in identifying and decisively troubleshooting actual and potential problems
- Ability to work in a high stress, fast paced, deadline driven production environment
- Ability to read construction drawings and perform material estimates/take offs
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with customers, trades representatives, and suppliers
- Ability to recognize, implement, and adhere to high levels of quality workmanship, performance expectations, and customer relations
- Ability to foster and maintain positive customer relationships seeking to enhance organizational image and reputation
- Ability to interact and relate well with individuals of various socioeconomic backgrounds in various situations
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION:
- Associate’s Degree in Construction Management or a related field with at least 1 year of management experience
- 5 years experience in construction industry or trades at least 2 of which were in a management capacity
- Possession of valid motor vehicle operator’s license
- Any combination of knowledge, skills, or education which demonstrates competency in required areas

Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
