Position: Director of Student Services

Position Summary:
The Director of Student Services is a pivotal leadership role responsible for the comprehensive management and administration of all student-related services for grades 6-12. This position ensures a smooth and supportive academic journey for students, from enrollment through graduation and beyond. The Director oversees student records, scheduling, standardized testing, college and career readiness, student orientations, academic support, and graduation logistics. This role requires meticulous organizational skills, strong communication abilities, and a deep commitment to student success.
Key Responsibilities:
Academic Management & Student Records:
Manage and maintain accurate student records in FACTS, including transcripts, schedules, and CA60 forms.
Oversee the loading of student data and the activation of student and parent portals.
Process and fulfill transcript requests via Parchment and other platforms.
Ensure accurate calculation and dissemination of student grades and report cards.
Manage the year-end rollover process in FACTS, including grade level changes and student scheduling.
Maintain and update student locker assignments.
Scheduling & Course Planning:
Develop and manage the master schedule for grades 6-12.
Coordinate and administer the J-Term schedule, including course creation, registration, and scheduling.
Facilitate course selection and scheduling for all students, including dual enrollment and Tech Center programs.
Organize and conduct parent/student scheduling workshops and meetings.
Manage dual enrollment partnerships and student registration.
Order and manage textbooks and educational materials.
Standardized Testing & College Readiness:
Coordinate and administer PSAT, SAT, ACT WorkKeys, M-STEP, and AP exams, including registration, accommodations, and logistics.
Manage NWEA testing, including scheduling, roster creation, and teacher training.
Oversee the College Board account, including test registration, accommodations, and agreements.
Provide guidance and support to students and parents regarding college applications, financial aid (FAFSA), and career planning (Xello).
Facilitate the submission of college applications, letters of recommendation, and transcripts.
Organize and host college information sessions and FAFSA nights.
Coordinate and administer the senior graduation process, including diploma orders, announcements, and ceremonies.
Calculate and announce senior scholar, valedictorian, and salutatorian awards.
Student Support & Orientation:
Plan and execute new students and new faculty orientations.
Coordinate and support student retreats and community service days.
Provide academic support and resources to students, including coordination with the Learning Lab.
Manage student accommodations and 504 plans.
Facilitate the "Willing to Wait" program for 8th graders.
Organize and chaperone school events, such as homecoming.
Administrative & Operational Duties:
Develop and update faculty training materials.
Manage and maintain testing sites and equipment.
Coordinate with external organizations, such as the LISD Tech Center and local colleges.
Prepare and manage budgets related to student services.
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies.
Maintain accurate records and documentation.
Manage and respond to parent inquiries and concerns.
Participate in handbook change meetings.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Educational Background/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
Proven experience in student services, counseling, or academic administration.
Strong knowledge of student information systems (FACTS preferred).
Experience with standardized testing administration and college application processes.
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Ability to manage and troubleshoot technical issues related to testing and student information systems.
Experience with digital testing platforms and equipment.
