About the Role
We are looking for a Sr Corporate Communications Director to lead LendingClub's external communications strategy and agency of record. This role will be based in New York City, reporting to the VP, Communications.
What You'll Do
Work with the Chief Customer Officer in New York City and the VP, Communications to develop and implement a comprehensive external communication strategy that supports and amplifies LendingClub's business and consumer narratives across various stakeholder audiencesProvide strategic external communications counsel to LendingClub's executive team and internal business partnersDevelop external communication materials, including press releases, talking points, media pitches, social media posts, product launches, and award submissionsBuild and manage relationships with media representatives across banking, fintech, and consumer products to proactively secure positive coverage, highlight our strategy, and effectively respond to crisis situationsEffectively respond to media inquiries, including arranging and facilitating executive participation where necessaryOversee and direct LendingClub's public relations agency of recordMonitor and analyze communication metrics to track performance and inform the external communications strategyHelp provide support for LendingClub participation in key conferences and eventsDevelop strong partnerships across the organization in support of shared communications objectivesProvide support for internal communications projects, initiatives, and vehicles as neededAbout You
12 years of progressive experience in external communications focused on financial services and / or fintechBachelor's degree or higher in Communications or related field; or equivalent work experienceA proven ability to develop and execute a compelling external communications narrative and strategyExceptional verbal and written communication skillsExisting relationships with media representatives across financial services, fintech, and consumer productsAbility to influence across the organization and work effectively at all levels, including providing strategic counsel to senior executivesEffective collaborator, negotiator, and team playerDetail-oriented but also able to see the big pictureProven agency management experienceStrong analytic and problem-solving skills
Work LocationNew York City
We are currently working a hybrid schedule and our teams are in-office Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
Time Zone RequirementsPrimarily ET
Travel RequirementsThis position will require travel to the San Francisco headquarters at least twice per quarter.

CompensationThe target base salary range for this position is 182,000-215,000. The position is also eligible to receive a bonus (which is based on company performance, employee performance and eligible earnings), equity ,
and benefits. Our salary ranges, other compensation and benefits offered are determined by role, experience level and location.
