Job Description
Summary
Clearing and Settlement is responsible for managing the end-to-end clearing and settlement process. This is to ensure smooth and timely market settlement of securities and cash transfers between the bank and its counterparty.
Work includes:
•Supporting interaction between internal and external stakeholders involved in the clearing and settlement process chain
•Allocating assets to optimize the portfolio strategically
•Ensuring adherence with market standards
•Clearing and settling through both primary and secondary markets and direct payments.
Background:
The Secured Room team is a segregated function and has separate physical access and distinct system access from other **** employees who perform functions such as transfers and payments. Metrics on key volumes. Documents maintained in physical and electronic inventories include over 27,000 Unissued Bond Certificates, 25,000 DTC Global Notes and 7,000Collateral Documentation parcels. A schedule of inventory counts is performed at regular intervals as a key control to proactively identify any missing or misfiled documents. The team also prints over 6,000 cheques per year and as a Manual Transaction Funding Utility (MTFU)performs the associated manual Hotscan entries under 4-eye review prior to mailing.
