Job Description
Under general supervision, assists engineers in testing and inspecting products at various stages of the production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.
- Selects products for testing at specified stages in production and tests such parameters as dimensions, performance, mechanical, chemical, or electrical characteristics.
- Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests (under various lighting, temperature, etc., conditions) on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.
- Performs quality control inspections, checks, and tests during the manufacture of products.
- Inspects materials, parts and products at different stages of production.
- Records observations and may make recommendations for improving processes.
- May work in any of the following areas of quality control: incoming material, process control, product evaluation, inventory control, product reliability, or research and development.
Qualifications
- Requires a two year degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Requires at least 5 years related experience.
- Strong knowledge of testing methods, problem identification and awareness of potential problems.
- Mastery of basic statistical calculations. Clear written and verbal communication.
- Knowledge of MS Excel and Word.
This will be second shift 3pm - 11pm.
