Job Description
- Chosen candidate will be required to work full-time in Denver office.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Must work safely at all times.
- Maintain an accurate shipment count on orders, ensuring proper contract application and monitoring contract performance so billings are accurate to customers.
- Provide customer service to customer and/or suppliers as needed pertaining to monthly activity (shipments, contract summaries, railcar tracing, etc.)
- Assist with reviewing and approving and/or disputing demurrage and detention wait times by working with carriers and internal schedulers.
- Assist with updating railroad and trucking fuel surcharge sheet and send to appropriate users.
- Develop strong working relationships with customer’s logistics personnel; provide excellent service to customers as the primary contact for all matters.
- Enter BOLs into the system for railcars, trucks, barges, and vessels (physical transfers) and preparing loading summaries for use by customers, Marketers, and Accounting, as needed.
- E-file paperwork on internal network, provide to customs and send to customers as necessary.
- Perform periodic reconciliations between actual shipments as entered into SRA and what was ordered/tracked, and work internally with schedulers to resolve differences and adjust orders, as needed.
- Assist with maintaining accurate freight rates in SRA, as needed.
- Work with other distribution coordinators in the department to achieve department goals and objectives and cover other workload when they are on vacation or out ill.
- Other duties may be assigned according to business necessity.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills necessary to identify problems or areas for improvement and work to resolve those issues.
- Proficient knowledge of MS Office, primarily Excel.
- Ability to work within the data base system in order to create and utilize reports.
- Must be accurate, well-organized, able to prioritize and work under pressure.
- 2- or 4-year college degree
- Some college, computer technology, business or accounting school/classes are desirable.
- 2 years of logistic scheduling experience, preferably rail, with exposure to international markets is a plus.
- Negligible travel required.
- Work is generally sedentary, with no specific need for physical coordination or effort.
- May require physical effort associated with using the computer to access information, or occasional standing, walking, lifting needed to carry out everyday activities.
- Tasks do not expose employee to physically unpleasant or hazardous conditions.
