The La Central Benefit Entitlement Specialist is responsible for ensuring clients have and maintain entitlements Benefits that may be needed include: Public Assistance, Medicaid, Food Stamps, Social Security Supplement Income/ Disability Insurance, Veteran’s Benefits and related support. This position is eligible for Comunilife's generous benefits and paid time off package and it is salaried up to $55,000 a year. The program sites are located in the Bronx and Brooklyn boroughs. Travel within those locations will be required.

Essential Functions
- Conduct needs assessments
- Schedule appointments
- Assist clients in acquiring and locating necessary documentation
- Accompany clients on appointments, providing advocacy and referrals, and assisting clients through the application process
- Work collaboratively in an inter-disciplinary team to ensure comprehensive, client-centered services are delivered and documented
Education and Experience Requirement(s):
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Education or a related area
- Two (2) years’ work experience in benefits and entitlements with extensive knowledge of community resources
- Experience with HIV/AIDS afflicted individuals, chronic mental illness, substance abuse individuals and their families a plus
- Bilingual skills in English/Spanish a plus
Salary : $40,000 - $50,000
