Job Title: BuyerJob Description
Source and purchase steel and related materials in line with company specifications and production schedules. Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to ensure cost-effective procurement. Manage and maintain relationships with existing suppliers while identifying and qualifying new suppliers. Ensure timely delivery of materials to meet production deadlines. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels. Manage third-party processing orders and integrate purchases into our systems. Meet with suppliers on a regular basis to capture and address any pricing, supply, quality, or performance issues and to communicate demand forecasts.
Responsibilities
This role requires working onsite. The team is well-tenured, providing hands-on training as this role is open due to a retirement. Employees benefit from a 'winning mentality' environment where discretionary bonuses are given twice a year on a case-by-case basis.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $41.00/hr.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, weight conversions, and volume
- Ability to read and interpret purchasing-related documents such as specification sheets, Certificates of Analysis, catalogs, product-related literature, quotes, and technical books/manuals
- Ability to prepare reports, purchase orders, and correspondence related to purchasing
- Effective communication skills with suppliers and other employees
- Experience with inventory management, logistics, and vendor relations
- Knowledge of market trends and cost analysis
- Understanding of steel materials, processes, and suppliers
