Science Systems and Applications, Inc. (SSAI) is seeking an individual with experience as a Facility Operations Manager (FOM) to oversee the general operations and maintenance of a large science and engineering building located at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). Responsibilities include monitoring the interior and exterior of the main building (including the roof), outbuildings (trailers and LN2 tank), and coordinating building operation and facility modifications to not interfere with ongoing programs and projects. The FOM alerts, monitors, and reports on any facilities related contingencies such as water leaks, structural failures, and scheduled and unscheduled electrical outages, coordinating/overseeing any repairs/renovations to address contingencies or improvements.
Other duties include serving as the Building Emergency Manager, maintaining building operations database (spreadsheet) system, and to consult on and coordinate with laboratory managers on external or internal infrastructure issues affecting their common areas, offices, labs, or clean rooms.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility operations management to include working with electrical systems, HVAC (heating air conditioning) systems, plumbing systems, hazard exhaust fans, card key systems, and automated controls.
- US citizenship required.
- Experience with science lab operations such as: radiation safety, laser operations and hazards, JHA (job hazard analysis), TVAC (thermal vacuum) operations, PVS (pressure vessel systems), and hazardous material.
- Experience with facility databases to track facility work requests, NASA IDMAX and NAMS, MOSI, UOTS, and STAR are a plus.
- Some formal training in electrical or other repair work (to coordinate and oversee the repair work) also a plus.
