This position focuses on providing overall support to employees and leaders in the areas of recruitment, compensation, employee relations, organization design and development. Reports to Sr. Director, People.
The People Business Partner is an important member of the People team. This People Business Partner position will primarily focus on employee relations, investigations, employee engagement, training and development as well as specialized HR programs and projects. This position requires a dynamic individual who can balance administrative duties with employee support, ensuring that all processes are compliant and that employee concerns are addressed with professionalism and empathy. This role brings a comprehensive understanding of HR practices and ensures the seamless operation of these critical functions.

Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as a resource for employees and management on employee relations issues, fostering a respectful, positive, engaged, and collaborative workplace
- Conduct investigations into employee complaints and recommend appropriate actions based on findings. Assist with conflict resolution, counseling, and coaching for employees and managers to address concerns and ensure productive working relationships
- Support the development and implementation of employee engagement initiatives to promote workplace satisfaction and retention
- Manage the new hire process including posting open positions, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, maintaining and processing paperwork, and onboarding
- Advise employees on leave requests for FMLA, ADA, disability, military, and other types of leave including but not limited to: track leave status, documentation, and return-to-work dates, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws, and educating employees and managers on leave policies
- Develop recruitment strategies including compensation evaluation, determining FLSA status, writing job descriptions and negotiating fees with external recruiters to achieve required staffing levels
- Collaborates with leaders regarding department restructures, workforce planning, succession planning and development
- Prepare employee separation documentation and conduct exit interviews
- Support annual performance evaluation and goal setting process
- Manage department information, including: intranet site and resource documentation, internal electronic files and reports
- Prepare reports and gather information as needed for leadership and audits
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in HR in a generalist or business partner capacity
- Extensive knowledge of Federal, State, and Local wage and hour laws
- Extensive knowledge of the leave requirements and other legal protections afforded by the FMLA, ADA, and other applicable laws
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and HRIS systems
- Proven solid interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively mediate and resolve employee relations issues
- Proven ability to handle sensitive issues with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Proven high attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- PHR/SHRM-CP, or similar HR certification
- Experience with Mergers and Acquisitions
- Experience implementing HRIS systems and processes
- Experience working in a remote, multi-state environment
- ADP experience
