I. Job Summary

This position facilitates the improvement of maintenance and operations performance by developing and implementing standardized processes and/or reinforcing the use of existing standardized processes. This person provides process analysis, project management and development support across various areas of the business. This position participates in developing processes aligned with corporate strategy, which includes business requirements gathering, process development, piloting and implementation. This person relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, performing a variety of tasks and leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

II. Essential Duties And Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

  • Work with the department representatives or project sponsor to document the vision and the project's scope.
  • Apply project management knowledge to team assignments, following a standard development methodology, a project plan, and standard project deliverables.
  • Will be responsible for driving improvement initiatives using Six Sigma or similar improvement methodologies.
  • Manage project teams to deliver on expectations.
  • Identifying and documenting issues and resolutions, providing on-going follow up and support.
  • Maintaining metrics to measure and report progress.
  • Able to communicate the use and value of system delivery methodologies and creation of life cycle deliverables.
  • Chart existing business and systems processes in order to define current business activities for the development of procedures and models.
  • Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing processes and develop strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes.
  • Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, scenarios and task workflow analysis.
  • Write requirements specifications using natural language simply, clearly, unambiguously and concisely.
  • Represent requirements using alternative views, such as analysis models (diagrams), prototypes, or scenarios where appropriate.
  • Recommending process improvements based on analysis of inputs, outputs, efficiency, consistency, cycle time, quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Benchmarking best-in-class processes for comparison purposes.
  • Identify project stakeholders and user classes. Document user class characteristics.
  • Identify appropriate representatives for each user class and negotiate their responsibilities.
  • Gather process information from subject matter expert teams.
  • Interface with the Client and organization stakeholders on a regular basis.
  • Analyze and compile information from subject matter expert teams to create, enhance, and publish standard, clear, and concise company-wide processes and methods.
  • Participate in the testing phase including end-user reviews, for modified and new processes and other post-implementation support.
  • Developing customer-training plans.
  • Developing and conducting presentations to educate customers and gain executive commitment.
  • Developing implementation strategies for communication, process transition, implementation team development and technology planning.
  • Communicate process changes, enhancements and modifications verbally or through written documentation to management, peers, staff and other employees so that issues and solutions are understood.

III. Supervisory Responsibilities

The highest level of supervisory skill required in this job is direct management of teams which may include full time employees and contractors.

IV. Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

  • Education and Experience
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Engineering or Business Administration, or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience: 7 years of relevant work experience in project management preferably in renewable energy, landfills, and or wastewater (in addition to education requirement).
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements
  • Certification in Process Management, Lean and/or Six Sigma preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
  • Proficient knowledge of a standard process or project methodology.
  • Technical understanding of SCADA systems, industrial control systems (ICS), and OT networks.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, DNP3, OPC, Ethernet/IP)
  • Knowledge of OT cybersecurity standards and best practices (e.g., IEC 62443, NIST CSF)
  • Understanding of network architecture and security principles
  • Experience with PLC's, SCADA, RTU's, and HMI's.
  • Industry-Specific Knowledge: Understanding of the specific industry in which the SCADA/OT systems are deployed (e.g., utilities, landfill operations, wastewater, manufacturing, oil and gas).
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement and business process
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement and business process redesign methodologies.
  • Experience in documenting system requirements, solutions proposals, and business plans.
  • System and/or process implementation experience.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Highly self motivated and directed.
  • Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail.
  • Able to exercise independent judgment and take action on it.
  • Superior leadership, listening, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical and creative problem solving skills.
  • Ability to facilitate small and large sized groups.
  • Ability to develop rapport and maintain strong relationship with sponsors, stakeholders and peers.
  • Expertise in using Microsoft office software (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, etc.)
  • Work Environment

  • This is a remote position but may be required to travel up to 30% of the time in order to perform the essential functions of the job,

  • Required to be exposed to physical occupational risks (such as cuts, burns, exposure to toxic chemicals, etc.) rarely;
  • Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements rarely;
  • Normal setting for this job is an office setting.

The expected salary range for this position is $94,000 - $123,000. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
