Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports for management, board of directors, and external stakeholders.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations of accounts.
- Oversee the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Ensure compliance with all nonprofit accounting regulations, including GAAP and IRS regulations.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and other financial transactions.
- Assist with the preparation for annual audits and provide support to external auditors.
- Monitor internal controls and identify opportunities to improve financial processes and efficiencies.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper financial planning and resource allocation.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior accounting staff.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in nonprofit accounting.
- Strong experience with NetSuite software is required.
- Knowledge of nonprofit financial regulations and accounting principles.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
