WGL - Director Benefits & Wellness
As our Director of Benefits & Wellness, you'll lead the US and Canadian benefits teams and drive the analysis, design, compliance, and administration of our employee benefit plans and programs. Reporting directly to our Head of Total Rewards, you'll be based in our Springfield, Virginia office. Plus, you'll enjoy the flexibility of our hybrid work program, spending 2-3 days a week in the office and the rest wherever you work best. WGL - Director Benefits & Wellness
As our Director of Benefits & Wellness, you'll lead the US and Canadian benefits teams and drive the analysis, design, compliance, and administration of our employee benefit plans and programs. You Will
- Provide strategic oversight and make recommendations to enhance/maintain our competitive position and ensure our benefits strategy is aligned with our values and business goals
- Drive strategic planning, design, implementation, maintenance, regulatory compliance, communication, and administration of our US and Canadian benefits programs to ensure we attract and retain top talent
- Lead/manage country-specific benchmarking efforts to determine appropriate benefits plan
- Manage and lead a team of 6-7 employees
- Oversee the administration and coordinate daily operations of employee benefit programs, vendor relationships, leave administration, employee benefits orientation, HRIS entry, and maintenance
- Manage and oversee all aspects of annual Open Enrollment, including the online tool and post-enrollment follow-up
- Maintain knowledge of government regulations, program trends, and practices among similar organizations
- Work collaboratively with accounting, legal, and tax departments to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with all tax laws and regulatory requirements
- Manage a variety of external vendors
- Partner with internal stakeholders to support the needs of the organization to ensure our programs are successful
- Lead the wellness space to ensure our philosophy supports our employees and is aligned with our benefit strategy
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 10 years of benefits experience including people leadership
- Expertise in the design, development, implementation, and administration of all types of health, welfare, and retirement programs
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Workday experience preferred
- Canadian benefits experience preferred
