Lentech, Inc. is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Government Contract Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in government contracting regulations and accounting practices. The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the operations of the Finance, Accounting, Contracts and Compliance functions, including but not limited to the following :
Job Functions and Responsibilities :
- Ensure compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
- Assist with tax reporting and filing, including payroll taxes and state and federal tax returns
- Coordinate and facilitate external audits, including DCAA audits
- Assist with revenue recognition in accordance with ASC-606
- Assist with contract management and entry into Costpoint
- Prepare and submit government invoices through systems like Wide Area Workflow (WAWF) and various contractor sites
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to optimize financial operations and streamline workflow
- Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends, while adhering to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Processes semi-monthly payroll and related functions utilizing Costpoint and Insperity
- Performs data entry of AP vouchers and checks their validity; conducts the processing of AP ACH’s on a weekly basis
- Responsible for the maintenance of the Accounts Payable Vendor Files
- Conducts monthly reconciliations GL accounts, Cash Flow and Bank accounts
- Prepares Monthly Recurring Journal Entries to include pre-paid and accrual accounts
- Assists with timesheet data entry and validation
- Assists in the preparation of year-end financial statements and assists in the audit process with the completion of various audit schedules and / or any ad hoc reporting as assigned
- Support bid proposal preparation
- Completes additional projects as assigned
