Responsibilities

Designers work as part of a multi-discipline team performing architectural design during all phases of multiple simultaneous projects.  Designers perform assignments under the direct supervision of one or more licensed architects.  Designers concentrate on specific design or technical documentation tasks that contribute to overall projects.  Assignments include programming, space planning, participating in the design process, preparing design presentations to communicate ideas to clients, editing specifications, and producing deliverable drawing sets for floor plans, roof plans, building and wall sections, details and schedules.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Designs and specifies project-appropriate architectural requirements
  • Performs Revit modeling and detailing
  • Assists to perform cross-discipline discussions and coordination with multidisciplinary teammates
  • Assists to conduct site investigations and observations
  • Assists to prepare narratives, architectural graphics, design presentations, drawing and specification documents in accordance with a high degree of quality, yet with regard to project schedule and budget constraints
  • Maintains knowledge of current industry trends on space, function, materials, etc.
  • Additional assignments may include attending client and internal meetings, assisting with performing construction contract administration, and assisting with marketing/business development activities
  • Travel for project related activities relative to existing building assessments/investigations, client meetings, or construction jobsite observations may be required

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture from an accredited college or university
  • 0 to 3 years architectural experience after degree, interest in workplace/hospitality/education architecture preferred
  • Proficiency with computer software including Revit Architecture, Sketch-Up, Rhino, Grasshopper, and Adobe Creative Suite preferred
  • Strong graphic, verbal, and written communication skills and knowledge of other building systems.
  • Positive attitude and commitment to being an active participant working as part of a multi-discipline team
  • Prior experience with A/E firms is a plus
  • Active leader and member of varied professional organizations is a plus

General Characteristics

  • Maintains knowledge of current industry trends on space, function, materials, etc.
  • Proficiency with computer software including Revit Architecture required
  • Working knowledge of Sketch-Up and Adobe Creative Suite/ Bluebeam preferred
  • Time management and organization skills with the ability to become involved in and remain current on issues relating to a number of one-two projects in various stages
  • Demonstrated ability to develop awareness and begin to lead team coordination of contract documents
  • Strong graphic, verbal, and written communication skills required
  • Positive attitude and commitment to being an active participant working as part of a multi-discipline team

Salary range for this position varies between $50,000 – $75,000, depending upon applicable experience.
