Position Overview: The Accounts and Receivables Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the financial health of Leo Landscape by maintaining current accounts receivable (AR) payments and facilitating prompt payment from customers. This position requires close collaboration with our primary Accountant to execute essential financial tasks, maintain accurate financial records, and support overall financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Receivable Management:
- Monitor and manage AR payments to ensure all invoices are collected promptly.
- Follow up with customers on outstanding invoices and resolve any payment discrepancies.
- Maintain up-to-date records of all receivables and regularly update the AR ledger.
- Implement effective collection strategies to minimize overdue accounts.
- Prepare and send billing statements, invoices, and payment reminders to customers.
- Collaboration with Primary Accountant:
- Work closely with the primary Accountant to support month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
- Provide support in auditing processes and ensure all financial activities comply with relevant regulations.
- Coordinate with the Accountant to reconcile accounts and resolve any discrepancies.
- Financial Record Keeping:
- Maintain and update financial databases and accounting systems with accurate information.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
- Handle inquiries related to accounts receivable from customers and internal teams.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations.
- General Financial Tasks:
- Assist with accounts payable tasks as needed to support overall financial operations.
- Implement and maintain efficient financial processes to enhance productivity and accuracy.
- Provide administrative support to the finance department as required.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in accounts receivable roles, preferably within the Landscaping industry.
- Proficiency in Quickbooks accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the primary Accountant and other team members.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper, CPA) are a plus.
